Maaianne Knuth
Spotlight
I am a Social Innovator working in Southern Africa. I am co-founder of Kufunda Learning Village where we work to...
My story bridges Europe and Africa in an arc that travels from Copenhagen, where I studied international business, to Zimbabwe, where I co-founded the learning centre, Kufunda Village (www.kufunda.org). Core to Kufunda’s work is enabling rural communities to become strong, empowered agents of their own destiny, using people’s own imagination, collaboration and resources. My work in conscious dance, mindfulness, and creative process supports individuals in waking to who they are and what they can be within their communities. The more I host others into wholeness and healing, the more deeply I experience the never-ending journey of it for myself.
Maaianne is a visionary. She works with dedication and love to bring the vision she carries for community and healing into grounded being. The space she holds for the dance is both warm and welcoming, deep and alchemical. Her Movement Medicine ® practice is rich, alive, and full with curiosity, humility and power; she teaches from this well of beauty. As a teacher and facilitator she brings lived connection with the earth of Mama Africa as well as the gift of a wide lens of cosmic consciousness. - Eliza Kenyon, singer songwriter, voice coach and movement facilitator
