Olivia Gardy

Olivia is a dreamer, a dancer, a healer, a global nomad and an inner voyager. Along her travels she trained as a hatha and calligraphy yoga teacher, but the one thing that invigorated her spirit time and time again, bringing her home and making her feel alive, was dance. After experiencing ecstatic dance in Goa, India, Olivia knew she needed to deepen this practice. That's when she found Movement Medicine - a modality of dance that draws upon ancient earth wisdom, inner knowledge and somatic healing - working into the deep layers of our human experience to bring healing. She started her studies with Ya’Acov and Susannah Darling Khan, founders of The School of Movement Medicine, in 2018 in the UK and became an Apprentice Teacher in 2022. Olivia's multifaceted approach, weaves together the vast tapestry of learnings she has explored over the years - yoga, dance, somatic trauma therapy, astrology, ritual and ceremony, earth immersions and rituals, initiations… the list continues to grow.

Olivia’s interest is working with dance, nature, psychology and ceremony to remember our essence as human beings. She has a keen focus on healing sexual trauma - reclaiming parts of ourselves that became fragmented - coming back home to the body, to the earth, to our inherent belonging.

Getting the body moving is always fun and her musical sound tracks are so divine. In Olivias space, I find myself able to go deeper within myself… to journey with what rises to the surface, to clear or to simply notice what comes up… Deep gratitude for having experienced movement medicine with this wise, beautiful being. - Lauren Leech
