Welcome to our July newsletter.

Over here in at the School of Movement Medicine there is a growing sense of momentum as we prepare for the Long Dance. This unique annual giveaway ceremony is an expression of dancing gratitude for life on Earth and serves as a fundraiser for Fundación Pachamama and other charities around the world.

Unable to join us in person? You can join the energy of the Long Dance by making a donation in its name or supporting one of the dancers in their fundraising efforts. Every contribution strengthens the collective intention behind the ceremony.

Creating this annual Long Dance prayer is a true community effort. From planning the ceremony, coordinating practical details, getting the site ready, caterers, musicians, volunteers, DJ's, altar makers, and dancer's doing their fundraising, so many people give their time, love and care.

A big thank you to everyone involved.

For us (Ya'Acov and Susannah) all roads lead to the Long Dance, and our whole year grows out from it. We are grateful that so many people hold this ceremony in their hearts along with us. Together we will dance, grieve, celebrate, give thanks and align with what truly matters, strengthening our inter-connection with the fabric of life.

Deep relationships matter: Susannah's blog this month (see below) explores the importance of deep human connection. It's inspired by longevity research, the lasting depth of friendships that often grow from Movement Medicine intensives, and includes a celebration of Ya'Acov and Susannah's 40 years together.

We're also delighted to share our intensives for the year ahead. These longer events offer the time and space to immerse fully in the depth of Movement Medicine. We hope to see you somewhere along the way, whether in the Amazon rain forest, online or somewhere in Europe.

Look out for our August newsletter with news from the Long Dance & more.

Please note that the School's office will be closed for the summer break until Tues 1st of September. However events are still being offered, the Study Hub is in full flow and life goes on!

BODY: YOUR LIBRARY OF WISDOM -ONLINE

July's Movement Medicine Study Hub Lesson

This month we are inviting you to dive deeper into the wisdom of your body, exploring the body as your library of wisdom, your garden, and the land of your dreams. Much of our lived experience is shaped by the simply fact that the body is partially occupied by memory: old strategies, unfinished stories, reflexes that once made sense and now quietly run the show. However, beneath all that - the library of wisdom that your body is made from holds the ground.

Study Hub members have access to a substantial and ever growing library of Movement Medicine practices; choose from short (15 mins) and longer (60 mins) guided sessions, seasonal ceremonies and a weekly pulse of Movement Medicine inspiration. Start your free 10 day trial today!

Lammas Tribal Heart

Fri 31 Jul 2026 · 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm (UK Time)
online

Lammas is traditionally the ceremony which celebrates and gives thanks for the harvest. That's why this ceremony's focus is on "Receiving our Blessings". It's so easy, in our lives now, to focus on the challenges and omit to notice the goodness that also exists. In this ceremony, we will be dancing to let in the blessings of life, not to ignore suffering, but to resource the depth of our beings. We will dance to let love ripple inwards and outwards.

Upcoming events in Sept:

Intensives in 2027:

Ubuntu is a profound word from the Nguni languages of Southern Africa, including Zulu and Xhosa. It carries the meaning “I am because we are” or “humanity towards others”.

Ubuntu means that we become fully human in relationship. We are shaped through connection, through how we treat one another, and through the communities we co-create. Every act of kindness, every recognition that another human being exists, every smile, strengthens the fabric between us.

With love to you and your network of connection,

We wish you all blessings,

With warmth, respect and gratitude,
