Christmas Break: please note the office will be closed Fri 19 Dec 'till Mon 5 Jan.
Winter has arrived here in Devon. The mist rolls in, the cold bites a little harder, and something in the land seems to say: slow down... take a breath. Time to take stock.
As the light fades and the nights stretch out, this season has a way of inviting us to stop for a moment and really feel the year in our bones. It's been a powerful one- layers of learning, unexpected challenges, moments of grace, and those flashes of beauty that keep us moving.
May these darker months offer you a pocket of stillness, a breath of space, and the kind of reflection that nourishes rather than weighs heavy.
And speaking of nourishment, November brought a bright spark of celebration! Three of our Movement Medicine Professionals graduated and stepped across the threshold into the next chapter of their service.
Huge, heartfelt congratulations to Carrie Branovan, Susan Dalziel and Simone Gantner. We're proud of you, inspired by you, and excited to see how you'll bring your medicine into the world.

And see our Teacher's Spotlights (below) of two wonderful Movement Medicine teachers who graduated in July.

DECEMBER's Study Hub Lesson

REMEMBER
with YA'ACOV and susannah
December arrives with her bag of paradoxes: joy and grief, victory and defeat, beauty and beast all tangled together. This is the season of remembering, not as a dusty archive of "what happened," but as a living practice of honouring what was, so that it can ripen into fuel for what wants to come. You are welcome to join this dancing global community of embodied learning for a month, a year or for the foreseeable.

Benevolent Death: The Teacher of Teachers
with YA'ACOV
THU 11 Dec 2025
online
Ya’Acov will introduce the concept of Benevolent Death, a universal concept from many indigenous traditions, that talks about death as a friend whilst the heart still beats. He will give a talk and then guide you on a journey with the drum to meet this powerful ally in the age-ing to sage-ing journey.

WINTER SOLSTICE TRIBAL HEART CEREMONY
with YA'ACOV and susannah
fri 12 Dec 2025
online
Winter Solstice is a time of deep quietude and introspection. It marks the longest night of the year, yet it also carries the seed of renewal, the first subtle turning back towards the light. This ancient threshold offers us the chance to pause, breathe, and attune ourselves to the rhythms of nature and the cycles of our lives.
In our ceremony, we gather to listen deeply to the silence, to kindle the inner fire, and to embody our prayers for the season. Together, we will journey into the heart of the darkness not as something to fear, but as fertile ground in which the seeds of new life may gestate.

returning home
with Susannah, Ya'Acov, Reuben and Hae In Cho
Tue 16 Dec- Sun 21 Dec 2025
Kiental, Switzerland
At the darkest point of the year, we invite you to join us at the beautiful Kientalerhof Residential Centre in Switzerland, to reflect on and digest all that we have lived through in the previous twelve months.
Nurtured by our beautiful surroundings, we will follow the energy of the season and acknowledge, digest and release the old year and then, tuning in to the silent wisdom in our cells, we will sense what longs to emerge through us in the year ahead. We will plant the seeds of these dreams in the fertile ground of the dance, bringing them into being through movement, art and Movement Medicine ceremony.
We love hearing about how life on the Movement Medicine dance floor effects the dance of your life. If you have a story to share, please get in touch
Thank you!
Thanking you

Wishing you a wonderful rest of December.
Keep dancing, wherever life takes you.
With warmth, respect, and gratitude,
Susannah, Ya’Acov and the School of Movement Medicine Team.
