We wish a happy, healthy and peaceful New Year to you and your loved ones. May the year ahead bring deeper understanding between us humans that, like it or not, we are family, and we have to learn how to get along. We will continue to hold prayers for peace in the places where war still rages, and for a kinder, wiser and more conscious relationship with the living Earth that gives us all life.
In 2026, whatever the year brings, may your practice give you enough grounding to stay present, enough flexibility to meet change, and enough rhythm to meet it all as creatively as possible. We wish you the health, wellbeing and good fortune to be able to dance with it all, with curiosity and courage; the grief, the grace, the times of chaos, and the joy. As long as life allows, we will go on offering spaces online and in person that offer you the space to do just that. Life is movement. And movement is medicine. And as Gabrielle Roth used to say: 'If you don't dance your dance, who will?'
With our love and respect, Ya'Acov, Susannah and the SoMM Team
Other News
We are also excited to share with you news of the first ever Movement Medicine Apprenticeship for men run by Marold and Keef in 2027.
Find out more about the Movement Medicine pathway of which their Apprenticeship is part. Discover more about Keef and Marold below.
"The Apprenticeship Program for Men" is a journey to empower your dreams and embody the man you were born to be. This is a unique opportunity to engage with this intense and transformative programme with a strong circle of brothers. This will be the 16th Movement Medicine Apprenticeship, and the first time it has been offered for men only. It follows the curriculum for all Movement Medicine Apprenticeships and adapts it to serve men in particular. Through Movement Medicine, ritual and ceremony we will explore masculine roles, challenges and evolutionary opportunities through this profoundly resourcing work.

JANUARY'S Dancer's Story

"Midway through the 72 hour ceremony, deep in the trance of the dance, the question of MEN and Movement Medicine appears in my mind behind my closed eyes.... I feel a presence beside me. It is Marold and he simply smiles and whispers once more - "Let's dream together, brother!"...."

JANUARY's Study Hub Lesson

Dreaming in the Dark
with susannah and ya'acov
January rolls in like a trickster sage: a blank canvas dressed in winter's quiet cloak. Yin and Yang are at it again, weaving their eternal dance, dark and light, rest and action, acceptance and intention. These aren't just cosmic abstractions. They're the twin engines of commitment, the roots that hold us steady when the winds of change blow wild.

Dancing with the Heart of the World 2026
with YA'ACOV AND SUSANNAH
Wed 14 Jan - Wed 28 Jan 2026
Amazon Rainforest, Ecuador
Step into a transformative pilgrimage that invites you to reconnect with the pulse of the Earth herself. Dancing With the Heart of the World is an intimate and immersive experience guided by Ya'Acov and Susannah Darling Khan, rooted in decades of dedicated relationship with the Pachamama Alliance and our indigenous Achuar and Sápara relatives.

Source of Power
with YA'ACOV
Fri 13 Feb - Sun 15 Feb 2026
Utrecht, The Netherlands
Ya'Acov returns to the Netherlands with a super-strong offering that brings our attention to the roots of so much of our experience. Sexual energy is the Source of creation. We have all been given the possibility of experiencing this energy as a powerful, healthy, and creative source for living a dynamic and inspired life. Beyond guilt, blame and shame, there is movement, connection and the awakening of a sexuality that is a potent source of creative energy for all areas of your life.

Moving Hearts
with SUSANNAH
Fri 27 Feb - Sun 1 Mar 2026
Aarau, Switzerland
This transformative Movement Medicine journey is designed to deepen the sensitive strength of the wild in you. Moving with the elements and with the animal intelligence of our hearts connects us experientially with the primal function of the full spectrum of our emotions. Come and explore dancing the energy of your emotions rather than being danced by them; embracing the whole of who you are and empowering the energy of your life.

Ecstasis
with Ya'Acov
Fri 27 Feb - Sun 1 Mar 2026
Bologna, Italy
Ecstasis, literally meaning 'to stand outside oneself,' is a state that has been available to humans across culture and time. We take standing outside ourselves to mean a state in which we are can see the bigger picture in which our lives exist. Ecstasis can arise at any time, and it tends to give deeper context and meaning to our lives. It can refer to grief as well as joy and through it, we can gain valuable insight and guidance into our lives and what actually matters most to us.
We love hearing about how life on the Movement Medicine dance floor effects the dance of your life. If you have a story to share, please get in touch.
Thank you!
Wishing you a wonderful beginning of the year.
Keep dancing, wherever life takes you.
With warmth, respect, and gratitude,
Susannah, Ya'Acov and the School of Movement Medicine Team.
