1Who and where are you?
I am Andrea, living close to Salzburg, surrounded by mountains that keep me grounded and remind me daily that everything in life is in motion. Movement has always been my way of understanding the world. As a Yoga Teacher Trainer, I accompany people who want to calm the mind, deepen their breath and move with more awareness.
2Are you a Movement Medicine teacher and/or facilitator? When did you train and graduate?
I am a teacher. I trained in 2011 and graduated in 2014
3Who do you serve with your Movement Medicine work?
I work with people of different ages who are curious about the dialogue between body, heart and mind. Those who want to release emotions and thoughts into movement, explore their inner landscapes, meet their limitations and freedoms – and are willing to encounter themselves behind the visible surface.
4What is the meaning of this work for you?
Movement Medicine is a continuous learning path: about my relationship to myself, to others, to presence, visibility and trust. Teaching reminds me again and again how dance creates connection and relationship – within and between us – even when we barely know each other. From this connection, clarity, joy and a sense of belonging arise naturally. Your gift for this world becomes visibility and form.
5Please tell us about two recent precious moments you’ve experienced in your professional Movement Medicine work.
Recently, we moved into a field of deep togetherness. Boundaries and connection became so tangible that a collective yes filled the room. One dancer shared that she had discovered the strength that comes from being rooted and how deep she could feel her fire without burning out. Her life had been about protecting her flame; in the dance, she experienced what it feels like to move with that fire.
6Please tell us something about when you recognised that Movement Medicine was going to play an important role in your life.
It was the moment I recognized that there was space for all parts of me, for my shyness, my strength, my resistance, and my joy in moving free and connected with others. Movement Medicine opened a path that felt spiritual without hierarchy, guided by the depth, presence and wisdom of Susannah and Ya’Acov Darling Khan. It was clear: this work would become a lifelong companion.
7The thing you find yourself saying most often to your participants
Bring your mind into your feet. If you feel distracted, return to the physical movement of your body. If boredom arises, let it move. Take a partner. Stay in your dance. Allow connection. Meet the space between you. Concentrate, bring your mind into your movement focus. And... breathe.
8If you had 9 words to say anything you wanted to the world, what would it be?
Breathe, move, connect, respect, honor, realize, enjoy life & expand.
