Dear MM community,

It is with great sorrow and shock that we write to let you know that on 17th July 2025 fellow dancer and dear friend Guro Voss Gabrielsen fell down some stairs in the night and suffered  a severe head injury from which she did not regain consciousness or recover.
Guro lived in Oslo, Norway with her beloveds; her husband, their young adult sons and her dog. At the age of 51 she was in a dynamic and peaceful moment in her life, loving her professional civic work, time in the mountains, and time with family and her wide community.

We, and many others, were fortunate to be part of the AP1 and PT1 journey with Guro who then taught MM alongside her professional work until 2013. She was an extraordinary being, a true dancing warrior full of life and love, someone who navigated so gracefully and with such humility between inner and outer worlds and tangible and intangible realms. Alongside her willingness to show up so generously in the outer world we also knew and loved her as a tenderly private person.

We will miss her in so many ways particularly her directness, authenticity,  generosity, and her smile and infectious laugh.

Rest in Peace our dear sister.
