When was the last time you danced?
Like—really danced? Not at a wedding in 2014. Not in the kitchen with your kids. And not while tipsy at a party. But just... because you felt like it?
*Drop-in sessions in Sykkylven
*Wednesdays in August, 17:30–20:00
*Studio Flow, Næringsfabrikken
Dance has always belonged to the people
As far back as we can trace, humans have danced. Around fires, to drums, together and alone. To celebrate, to grieve, to relax, to shake off tension, to connect, to feel joy. It was never about being good. It was about being human.
Today, science confirms what our bodies already know: When we move through free, improvised dance, we change how we think, feel, solve problems, and relate to life.
So… when was the last time you danced?
In August, you’ve got the chance. Free dance – no choreography, no mirrors, no pressure.I’ll play music. Your body will take it from there. You don’t need to know what you’re doing – just show up. The rest happens by itself. I promise.
“It’s not zumba. And it’s not therapy. It’s more like a recess where you get to move however you want. Music and free movement. No pressure to perform – just that feeling of being alive again.”
We dance out of our heads and into our bodies. We turn restlessness into release, chaos into strength. No rules. No right way. Across generations. The dance is waiting for you. Curious? Come join us 🙂

“I don’t dance to impress, perform or look good.I dance to feel. To clear my head. To click out of my patterns and be a little wild.To live. To remember who I am.Dance has become my way home – to myself, to others, and to life itself.”

What is Movement Medicine®?
Movement Medicine® is a dance and movement practice where we use music and free movement – no choreography – to quiet the mind and reconnect with the intelligence of the body. Some call it dance meditation.
It’s a somatic practice that can help reduce stress and anxiety, increase body awareness (your ability to notice and respond to your body’s needs), support emotional regulation, and strengthen your mental health.
Movement Medicine draws on modern neuroscience, Indigenous wisdom, psychotherapy, dance psychology and somatic therapy.
