How much time do you spend in a state of contemplation and reflection?
• How can you sometimes step back, get out of the way and take a wide perspective on life?
• How can you find more humility in service of the bigger picture?
Movement Medicine encompasses three central archetypal characters.
The Dancing Warrior, The Wise Elder and the Dancing Fool.
These serve as medicine to the drama triangle of the Rescuer (Wise Elder).
Persecutor (Dancing Warrior) and the Victim (The Dancing Fool)
Drawing on the magical maps of Movement Medicine we will expand our capacity to listen deeply, connect to our compassion for and perspective on life, embodying the depth of relationship with the energy of the Wise Elder who lives within us and loves us and all of life.
When we attach ourselves to a particular knowing and impose this on others under the guise of helping or even rescuing others we can often fall into a very narrow perspective that can cause more harm than good In this weekend workshop, you will be invited to take a gentle and bold step into the shoes of the Wise Elder.
We will explore how we can slow down; find stillness and more humility so we can truly be in service without imposing anything onto anyone.
Remembering how it is to be connected and at peace with yourself and the world around you.
Movement Medicine weaves together the exhilaration of free dance with the depth of movement meditation and the spirit of shamanic practice.
Participation in this workshop counts as faculty hours towards School of Movement Medicine apprenticeship and training
