When we begin the journey of empowerment and taking responsibility for our lives, we learn how the past has shaped us. As we evolve, we recognise that there is an unbroken intelligence within us that gives us the strength to engage with all that is past, much like an artist working with raw materials. We learn to sculpt our unique weave of gifts, challenges and experience into the task of becoming who we are.
As we mature, we can take increasing responsibility for how we express that uniqueness through our choices, our relationships and what we offer to the world.
The gateway from adulthood to maturity shifts our perspective.
Alongside tending our wounds and understanding our history, we ask:
How am I the artist of my own life?
How is everything I and my ancestors have lived creative material for
my life now?
What am passing on to those who will follow?
This Initiation weekend is an initiatory threshold. Through Movement
Medicine embodied enquiry and ceremony, we will explore the shift
from taking responsibility for our lives, to the unexpected gifts of
maturity. These may include:
The freedom and lightness of being that comes from lived
self-acceptance.
The sense of humour we have about our very human self.
The joyful choice to live today that awareness of mortality brings.
The deep peace that emerges from our day-to-day experience of the great mystery of life.
MESSAGE FROM YA'ACOV
We will honour what we have inherited and explore the next steps of what we choose to carry forward. Maturity widens our circle of connection and therefore, care. Our choices and actions touch partners, families, communities, the living Earth and those who will come after us.
Knowing the deep, intricate and developing pattern of the unique soul we are (soulprint) brings us deeper and deeper into the lived knowledge of the meaning of ‘for all our relations.’
There is room in this work for grief, tenderness, fierce honesty, and the raw experience of full-hearted embodied prayer. This weekend is an invitation to take another step to Stand up, Grow up, and Play your role.
