MOVE! - "Appearance, Apparel and Being"
A dressing-up-dance-journey at carnival-time with Antje
For those who might otherwise could do without carnival parties but still feel like dancing in unusual clothing.
This time of the returning light has always been celebrated and honoured. Fertility goddesses were worshipped, the barren "evil" forces of winter were banished to create space for the fertile "good" powers.
It was and is about polarities: light and darkness, winter and spring, good and evil, decay and new life, inside and outside and at the same time about dissolving differences, changing roles, being allowed to express everything that otherwise is illicit or you don´t allow yourself to .. It is about the equivalence of all that is.
We will approach this in the dance, expressing our presence in movement, recognizing the interplay of self-expression, self-evaluation and self-efficacy. The opportunity to try on and out different outfits and dance in them will help us to do this. And most of all this is great fun!
