Welcome!
Having grown up with music surrounding me, my love for dance came at an early age. I danced in my room, expressing the many emotions a teenager can have and walked in nature, feeling the aliveness and magic of the natural world all around me. My love of dancing led me through the rave scene and on to a 5 rhythms dance floor in London.
I finally found a place in conscious dance, where I could deeply explore and discover the creativity and wisdom of my body in a grounded and safely held space. In 2017 I found Movement Medicine which was a home coming.
I was delighted to find a way of dancing that helped me to re-connect and embody the natural world that I love so much.
With Movement Medicine I have felt the profound benefit of a regular dance practice reverberate through my life and wellbeing. It is a such rich resource that we can all lean in to. We can become more comfortable with the uncomfortable, simply by moving with whatever comes up.
Self compassion is a continual journey. Dancing enables us to find and work with our inner resources, recognising, being with and transforming wounded parts, instead of them running the show.
This gives us space for inspiration and creativity.
Being an Upledger Craniosacral therapist for over 20 years has given me a broad and well-developed foundation for working with people.
I consciously hold space in our group dances that is safe, trauma informed, supportive and grounded to provide all with the opportunity to develop, process and grow.
We dance to regulate our nervous systems, to facilitate the release of held patterns in the mind and body. We discover our strengths and resources, exploring what it is to dance in a supportive community. Dancing re-connects us to a deeper, wiser part of ourselves that helps us to live a more full and authentic life.
We do all this whilst having a good boogie!
Classes are on one Sunday a month and in Autumn I will be holding weekly evening classes during term time.
