Karuna Linda Marx

Dance has been Karuna's companion and elixir of life from childhood on. Her background is in dance, meditation, bodywork and a 2 year Training in Gestalt Therapy. Karuna has been dancing with Susannah and Ya'Acov Darling Khan since 1998, first 5Rhythms and later Movement Medicine with them. She is a mother, studied and accredited nutrition therapist, ayurdevic therapist and bodyworker and trained in Integrative Bodywork and Movement Therapy with Linda Hartley. This is based on Body Mind Centering, Authentic Movement and Somatic Psychology. For her, it was helpful to combine the practice of bodywork and movement in order to be more embodied and more connected to her inner landscape, to the earth and be at home in her own body. That’s why she loves to combine bodywork and dance in her work as Movement Medicine Teacher and Facilitator. She has experience in working in the clinical field with trauma and eating disorders as a movement therapist in groups and 1-1 sessions. In the clinical field she was also trained in DBT (Marsha M. Linehan) for working with clients with Boderline personality. In all she did dance stayed her source of aliveness.
Recently she offers courses for people with chronical illness and has been working in the field of health for more then 25 years, first as nutrition therapist and later also as movement therapist.

She lives with her child and dog in Hamburg and loves the ocean and the woods, cooking, Ayurveda and India.

Her participation in the School of Movement Medicine's Summer Long Dance, in which Manari Ushuiga from the Amazon Rainforest also participates, was particularly profound.

Karuna would like to thank Susannah and Ya'Acov, Manari and the Spirits from the rainforest, her mentors Catherine Wright and Rosie Perks, Linda Hartley, her family and all her dance colleagues and future participants.

Course Long Covid: my cells were able to embrace each other. In the dance doors to pleasure, sadness and sensuality opened in the most diverse forms. Even my brain could relax and cuddle into the bone shell, I was becoming seaweed and a fallen tree trunk that is deeply rooted with the earth and sends new shoots and trunks into the sky. The elements became my daily companions, movement and dance became possible again. The course brings me back to my power, my body and my life , I feel very empowered. Alexandra S., Hamburg
