Charlotte Underwood

Charlotte seamlessly integrates the power of Movement Medicine® into her work as a psychotherapist. She values working in an attuned and relational way with each individual, meeting each person where they are, with compassion, and a steady invitation to gently explore what needs expression, tending, release, and support. She brings the wisdom of 25 years of experience and extensive training in trauma, somatic therapy, IFS, focusing, dream work, current findings from neuroscience on how our nervous systems work, as well as the deep meaning and support that comes from engaging with our ancestors in healthy and safe ways.

She enjoys creating a safe and gentle path for people who are new to, and might be apprehensive about movement work, meditative dance, or learning about themselves in community. She understands that even though it was natural for our ancestors, stepping into the healing power of sharing our grief and healing in community is a big step for most people these days. The feedback she has received from those who have taken that step is that was life changing.

"My work with Charlotte has allowed me to return to my self. Her therapeutic skills of deep listening and gentle inquiry provided a safe place for me to consider and eventually accept that I am lovable. She helped me to pay attention to my body's cues and intelligence until it became second nature for me. I am grateful for her therapeutic tools, her wisdom and intuitive gift of healing." - Shawnee; Health Care Provider
