Each of us has a life history, and this is a journey where we receive the energy that resides in the stories that are inscribed in our lives as a resource, and make it our power to create our present and future.
The retreat addresses the 9 cycles of the life journey: conception, birth, childhood, puberty, adolescence, adulthood, maturity, old age and death.
Through dance, we explore the landscape and archetypes of the first five cycles, acknowledging what has been, transforming what can be done and learning from the challenges of those periods. When we reach the transition from adolescence to maturity, we spend a day on a mini-Vision Quest, giving an overview of our current life. As further preparation for taking responsibility for your own life, we invite 'merciful death' as a teacher and reaffirm that the time we have to live is precious and short.
The intention of the retreat is to expand the freedom of body, heart and mind to see our past as an important cornerstone for living a creative, empowering and connected life. We are not alone. You will be going on this journey with a wonderful group of dancers.
This retreat is your own journey and a journey into the story of humanity.It is a journey of forgiveness of the past, acceptance of the present and encountering the unique gifts you were born with.

🌿Initiation is a rite of passage at a milestone in life. It refers to a series of processes that lead to recognition and incorporation as a full-fledged adult in society.
🌿Movement Medicine's Initiation is a course created by Ya’Acov and Susannah Darling khan, founders of Movement Medicine.
🌿Initiation is one of the prerequisites for participating in the Apprenticeship Programme (scheduled for 2026 in Japan), which will enable you to use Movement Medicine yourself. Another prerequisite is the Phoenix Process. (to be held in 2025)

🌿Participants must have attended at least one class with teacher Megumi Miyata. (If you have never attended a class before, you are welcome to attend before the start of the initiation.)
Have completed at least 25 hours of movement medicine or other related dance (e.g. 5Rhythms, Open Floor, Soul Motion, Bio danza, Vital Dance, etc.) by the start of the initiation.

＜ Participation fee ＞
Participation fee: 240,000 yen (including accommodation, meals and work for 10 days)
Early-bird discount (half or more of the fee must be paid by the end of August): 230,000 yen

⚪︎Please pay the full amount at least one week before the event in both cases.

⚪︎The basis of accommodation is 2-3 people sharing a room. Single occupancy is possible at an additional cost.

⚪︎ If cancellations are made 30 days prior to the program start date, a cancellation fee of JPY 100,000 will be charged.
⚪︎ If cancelled within 30 days of the program start date, half of the course fee will be charged.
⚪︎ If cancelled within 14 days of the program start date, the full course fee will be charged.
