Awakening Your Animal Body
This month's Lesson on the Body will be taught by guest teacher, Anne Ena Bernard: "I'm honoured to open the series of the 9 branches of the Movement Medicine Mandala with a theme I'm particularly fond of : The Body!
This month we'll be looking at the story of how a baby develops its innate instinctive movement capacity all the way to standing upright. We will be revisiting the natural stages of this path with precision, and we'll have the opportunity to reclaim as much as possible of the animal power, relaxation and grace that are naturally in us from birth. This is what Tim Anderson calls the Original Strength.
To enrich our practice of Movement Medicine, particular attention will be paid to the balance between the very centre of the body, the pelvis, and the space around us, and also the balance between our ability to relax the body fully, and complete engagement of the body in movement. From the space between the two opposites comes not only vigour and pleasure in the body, but also the health of our emotions and our spirit, as well as our real capacity to open our dance to inspiration, to mystery, and to life!"
Anne Ena teaches Movement Medicine and also teaches retreats specialising in passing on the work of Yvonne Berge.
