End of year ritual to reflect and make meaning and medicine from what's been....
In the leadup to Christmas and the end of the year, things always seem to be speeding up and the weeks can feel densely packed with social events, shopping, preparations etc. Every now and then, we might feel that we ought to spend a quiet moment contemplating the year that's been and giving attention to what's been important or what we may have learned. However, it can be tricky to squeeze meaning-making in amongst the busyness. For many of us, unless there is something in the diary, we may let the things that are required of us push aside the things that feel nourishing or important for our soul.
One way to make time for reflection, nourishment and sense-making, is to do it with others, to make it an event that's as important as the other events that fill our calendar at this time of the year.
In the spirit of taking a deep breath amidst the to do's, I invite you to join me for a cosy ritual by candlelight on Thursday 12th December. Let's invite 2024 like a friend or old acquaintance to our table and listen to its story.
What happened? What did it mean to us? What did we learn about ourselves? It's an opportunity for us to consciously decide what meaning we wish to make from what we have been given, and to let it- all of it - become good compost for where we wish to go from here.
There’ll be movement, simple ritual, and prompts for reflection to help us to turn our memories into meaning and medicine.
Come, slow down, be human. You are welcome as you are, however you are, in this circle.
