Vision Quest
Yearly Intensive
DanSing The Vision Quest is an ancient ceremony, practiced in many different cultures around the world. It provides a strong insight and foundation for seeing your life as a creative project and committing yourself to the full manifestation of your dreams in this lifetime. It is also a ceremony that helps us to take stock of our lives and refresh and nourish the dreams we are already living.
On the path towards fulfillment, there is a time when the focus shifts from personal healing to the creative task of finding and deepening one’s offering back to life. We call this vision quest time. Movement Medicine practice catalyses the desire to make one’s contribution to the bigger picture. As a movement practice, it provides not just the perfect preparation for the Vision Quest ceremony but a practical toolkit for making the very most of your time out in nature.

The ceremony begins with a process of deep preparation at home in your own life which includes a Day Walk ceremony. This ensures that you take the time to focus on the Vision Quest and also offers an opportunity to check that your equipment is in good order. Our week together will begin with two further days of preparation with the group. You will then spend 55 hours alone in the beautiful landscape of South Devon, supported by a strong circle and the nature around you. It is a time to ‘cry for a vision’ and simply to allow the deepest parts of your own being to be in dialogue with the web of life around you.
For those that are already following a vision, the vision quest is a more contemplative ceremony where in the presence of nature, you can strengthen what you already know and see the next steps in your journey.
The return from the Quest is an important time to share your story with your fellow travelers and receive a name as a reflection of your time from the ceremonial leader. There will be time at the end to ground yourself and contemplate the task of bringing what you have learned into form and into the rest of your life.
Prerequisites: We recommend previous Movement Medicine experience or other related practice. Participation is by application only. The numbers on this group are limited to 30 participants.
